The wind turbine should be installed at least at 90 m height. The heated sensors can be kept ice free only for limited time even at good wind conditions, due to battery capacity for only a couple of days and even the wind turbine can freeze up. Depending on local conditions the efficiency of heating and consequently the remaining time of freezing can vary significantly. A sites with severe freezing of more than two to three weeks per year we recommend external energy supply by power connection, fuel cell or automaticly controlled power generator
